first state to sign MoU

 Jharkhand will become the first state to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Centre, on 5 january 2015, for the Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana (UDAY) reforms for state-owned power distribution companies (discoms).Through UDAY Jharkhand will also derive an overall net benefit of approximately 5,300 crore rupees.MoU was signed between the state government, Union Ministry of Power and state power distributor Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL).
